Module III welcomed mechanical engineer Lauren Baldeau to speak on "Engineering: How We Make Things Work". Lauren has a B.A. in English from the University of Dallas and an M.A. in mechanical engineering from Boston University and is now the Digital Garage Lead for North America at Cognizant Technology Solutions. Avenue participants got to experiment for themselves by building a structure out of various craft materials that could withstand simulated hurricane conditions. Only one group managed to build a strong enough structure!
