Marita Montes

Executive Director

Module II Team Lead

After pursuing a career in art & design, Marita worked in the non-profit sector advancing women leadership and educational programs in Boston, Los Angeles, and New York. Marita volunteered at The Avenue from 2011-2014 and rejoined the Avenue Executive Committee in 2017. She became Executive Director in 2020. A true New Yorker at heart, Marita loves design, power walking, and micro gardens.

Gabriela Alba

Avenue Executive Committee Module I Team Lead

A former Avenue participant herself, Gabriela is excited to be giving back to the program as a member of the Avenue Executive Committee! She is a graduate of the University of Navarra in Spain and now works in Corporate Responsibility Communications at JPMorgan Chase. In her free time, Gabriela loves visiting museums and drinking bubble tea.

Rebekah Chin Lee

Avenue Executive Committee Module III Team Lead

While originally from the Caribbean, Rebekah's love for adventure and learning took her to Boston, where she earned a degree in biochemistry from Northeastern University. It was while working in New York in 2012 that she got involved in The Avenue as a Module Leader. Later on, she pursued further studies in philosophy and theology in Rome and then spent five years in Romania, where she discovered her love for teaching. Now back in New York, she continues to work in education as an instructional designer.

Claire Hadley

Avenue Executive Committee

Module IV Team Lead

After graduating from the University of Notre Dame with a philosophy degree, Claire pursued a career in development, working in various educational institutions in New York, Boston, and St. Louis. She received a degree in theology from the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome. Claire joined the Avenue Executive Committee in 2020. Although she is currently in NYC, Claire remains a loyal Orioles fan.

Sophia Martinson

Avenue Executive Committee Marketing & Communications

Sophia joined the Avenue Executive Committee in 2020. After studying education and the Great Books program at the University of Notre Dame, she worked in journalism and education policy research in Washington, D.C. before moving to New York City. She is a freelance culture writer for various publications and currently lives with her family in New Jersey. Sophia enjoys Jane Austen novels, chai tea lattes, and cooking Cuban food.
